The Cincinnati Comic Expo 2015

Hello everyone! It’s been awhile since our last post, but we are going to try to keep posting every week. So, here’s what we’ve been up to lately.

The expo ran Sept. 18 thru the 20th at the Duke Energy Center in Cincinnati Ohio. We were given press passes to check out the event and had a great time! Here’s a bit of what we saw.

The guest’s of honor were Adam West and Burt Ward so I had to splurge and meet both Batman and Robin this year. We weren’t able to get the greatest of photos of the two as our press passes didn’t allow us to take pictures of the celebrity guests and the cost of getting a picture was a bit too high for our taste…so we made due.AdamBURT

We also were able to see a few bat vehicles and cosplayers.

Not only was the convention honoring the dynamic duo, but there was also a 30th anniversary celebration for ‘Back to the Future’. The expo celebrated a few different ways. On the 18th, the day ended with the Fourth Annual Geek Prom being turned into the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance! And if that wasn’t cool enough, Harry Waters, Jr. (You know, your cousin, Marvin Berry) performed ‘Earth Angel’ live!

Original cast members Claudia Wells & James Tolkan were also in attendance at the expo all weekend for photos and autographs. Then on the 19th, the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra played the film’s soundtrack live in synch with the movie!

Artist Alley

We met so many artists that it would take forever to name them all, but one comic stood out to me at the end of the day.  Squarriors, The epic saga of warring animals who inexplicably become intelligent after the dying off of the human race. This is a beautiful book that I can’t wait to read. I’m hoping we can get them to be our guests on the show sometime in the near future.

Ashley Witter and Ash Maczko

There we many great panels over the weekend, but only one we had time to attend. The Middle Earth Panel with Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings Trilogy) & Graham McTavish (The Hobbit Trilogy) was an hour well spent. Both Sean and Graham talk about their experiences bringing Middle Earth to life and answer questions from the audience. To hear the entire panel, listen to episode 95 of our catalog!

So in a nutshell, that was our experience at the Cincinnati Comic Expo 2015! A big thanks to everyone at the expo for letting us attend as press for the event!
